How to add trust badges under Add to cart in Shopify
Trust badges answer the last questions before someone pays: is checkout secure, can I return it, when will it arrive. Right under Add to cart is where they get read.
Updated October 10, 2026. Steps checked on the Dawn and Horizon themes.
Do it yourself in the theme editor
Dawn
- Open Online Store > Themes, click Edit theme and go to the Default product template.
- In Product information, click Add block > Icon with text.
- Pick up to three icons, like Lock, Return and Truck, and write a short heading for each. You can upload your own image instead of an icon.
- Drag the block under the Buy buttons and save.
Horizon
- In the Default product template, open Product information > Details.
- Add a Group with an Icon block and a Text block for each badge, for example Truck and “Free shipping over $50”.
- Move the group under Add to cart and save.
Where the theme editor falls short
- In Dawn, three badges per block, with no link or color for each one.
- Payment logos and badge artwork aren’t included: you bring your own images.
- The promises are plain text: keep them true, and change them everywhere if your policy changes.
Or ask Yef
Yef is an AI developer built for Shopify themes, and you don’t need any technical skills to use it. You write the change in plain words and see what it will do, and Yef applies it to a draft of your store that you try before anything goes live.
Add three trust badges under the Add to cart button: Secure checkout, Free returns within 30 days and Ships in 2 days. Use simple line icons in our brand color, and link Free returns to our returns page.
A row of badges under Add to cart that matches your store, each one linked where it should be. You try it on a draft before it goes live.

Questions
Do trust badges help sales?
They answer questions shoppers have before paying, which removes a reason to leave. Only show what’s true for your store.
Should I use payment logos as trust badges?
Most themes already show payment icons in the footer. Under Add to cart, short promises like free returns usually say more.
